He began his career on the assembly line at Toyota’s joint venture with General Motors, New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc. (NUMMI), before advancing to Toyota Engineering & Manufacturing North America (TEMA) in the Operations Management Development Division (OMDD/TSSC), Toyota’s internal consulting group. There, his foundational expertise in Industrial Engineering, the Toyota Business System, and the Toyota Production System was forged—shaping his lifelong commitment to operational excellence.
Over his career, Paul has held executive and leadership roles including President, Vice President, Director, Senior
Manager, and Frontline Supervisor across Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Continuous Improvement. He has led and facilitated more than 500 Kaizen events, generating breakthrough results in SQDC performance, daily management systems, strategic execution, and organizational culture.
Leveraging methodologies such as Lean, Kata, and Deming principles, Paul has built and deployed sustainable enterprise operating systems tailored to each organization’s unique needs—enhancing productivity, profitability, and cash flow while developing high-performing teams that deliver measurable business impact. Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders from San José State University and a Toyota Business System Practitioner Certificate from Toyota (TEMA).
